Vectorworks to photorealism in one upload

Start with any Vectorworks 3D view, shaded or Renderworks. Volexi finishes the image — lighting, materials, photoreal sheen — in under a minute.

Volexi renders a Vectorworks view as a photoreal image in 30–60 seconds. Export a PNG from the 3D viewport or a Renderworks base pass, upload to Volexi, pick a lighting preset, and download the final result.

Inside VolexiVectorworks Spotlight users rendering event-venue concepts cut setup time from 38 minutes of Renderworks lighting configuration to 62 seconds in Volexi, averaged across 89 stage and corridor scenes from three entertainment-production studios in the 2026 beta.

How it works

How to export a Vectorworks view to Volexi

Three steps from a Vectorworks 3D view to a photoreal image.

  1. Step 1

Pick a 3D view in Vectorworks

Open a 3D view or a Renderworks viewport. Either shaded base render or Final Quality Renderworks output can serve as input.

  2. Step 2

    Export the view as PNG

File → Export → Export Image File. Choose PNG, set resolution to at least 2048 pixels wide.

  3. Step 3

    Upload and render with Volexi

Drop the PNG into Volexi, select material and lighting presets, click Render. Photoreal result in about a minute.

Why Vectorworks teams choose Volexi

Does Volexi need a Vectorworks plugin?

No. Volexi reads exported PNG or JPG files. Your Vectorworks installation stays untouched, and version upgrades never break the workflow.

Plugins for rendering tools routinely break across Vectorworks major-version upgrades. A PNG-based pipeline avoids the yearly maintenance cycle and the fraught period right after a Vectorworks release.

Is it tuned for Vectorworks Spotlight event designers?

Yes. Lighting presets cover stage and venue scenarios; Architecture Lock preserves rigging and truss positions.

Spotlight users care about truss placement, lamp rigs, and audience sightlines. Volexi preserves these elements via Canny-edge guidance while applying photoreal lighting finishes.

Can I feed a Renderworks output into Volexi for a higher-fidelity pass?

Yes. A Renderworks Medium Quality output makes a strong base. Volexi enhances the photographic feel without changing geometry.

This "Renderworks base + Volexi finish" pattern is common with studios that own Renderworks seats already — they keep the geometric accuracy and add AI photorealism as a second pass.

Does this work on Mac with Vectorworks?

Yes. Vectorworks on Mac exports PNG natively. Volexi runs in your browser. No platform-specific setup.

Apple Silicon and Intel Macs both work identically. The only requirement is that Vectorworks can save a 3D viewport or Renderworks viewport as an image.
